Pairing Music and Hospitality
A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went to Long Island, New York, to spend a week with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. We had a brilliant apartment, nearby restaurant, deli and a few minutes walk from a pretty harbour. And we had music.
The apartment owner had installed a Sonos system which played music into a Yamaha based home audio. Part of the booking included access to wifi and internet, the paperwork for the flat included wifi password. Within a few minutes of arriving we were enjoying music, our choice. No suffering scratched CDs left behind by previous guests or the sounds of silence.
The music certainly enhanced our stay, much more of a home-from-home than I’d expected. From the renters point of view he was probably paying for the internet anyway, the Sonos unit was modestly priced. So choice of tracks to play, and the cost of the Spotify subscription (or Amazon Prime in my case) were paid for by us. He or she delivered the music we liked without incurring extra cost. A great combination.
