Easter – a time for new beginnings, a new start, rebirth, chocolate and. well, thinking about the future. Which is what we’ve been doing. It’s about time for a change.
Our CD ripping service has been in operation for some fifteen years. As time has gone by the nature of the service has changed. We’ve evolved from a very basic ripping system into something much more comprehensive, the service we offer today. It’s hard for us to recognise the process we had all those years ago. Pre-robots, pre-software, pre pretty much anything that automated the system.
What hasn’t changed is the fundamental price of the MP3 by Mail offering at 50p per CD. That’s what we’ve been thinking about. Even though our charge has remained static the world has changed around us. After a great deal of thinking, soul searching and so on we feel the 50p price point can’t remain for much longer. We will need to increase the price.
But not just yet. No later than the end of November we’ll implement a price revision and yes, the price will go up. Closer to the date we’ll take a view of what the new price will be, but our thinking isn’t simply to add a penny or two to the cost, it would need to be a significant increase.
If you’re thinking of having your CDs ripped we’d like to suggest you act now, before we fire the gun on a price hike. Once we do there’ll be no going back so you could save a chunk of money by acting in the coming few months.
If you want to lock in a price email us and we’ll give you a price that will hold good long enough for you to get your CDs across to us. If you don’t do that and the price goes up, well so be it.
