CD Ripping Hardware
We have available an array of six computers we use for CD ripping.
Over the years we've had clients wanting their CDs ripped on platforms that replicate their own home set up. So we have three Apple Mac computers and three Windows systems.
Various people have tried to sell us CD ripping robots but we've resisted the temptation. The result of our experience is that multiple PCs working side-by-side delivers greater throughput than a single system with a robot. We've also had contact with people who've invested in CD robots and been very unhappy with the results.

We are often asked which CD ripping platform works best.
In terms of delivered sound there's no difference between Apple and Windows. However there is a difference between the output of different types of CD units. For this reason we have standardised on good quality CD players with Sony and Plextor being favourites.
